Calesita choreography
Learn this choreography you can use during calesita
I’m excited to present a series of options for adornos (decorative movements) that you can incorporate during calesitas (planeos). Calesitas are quite fashionable elements in tango lately. This choreography is designed to give you a structured starting point. Remember: you don’t need to use the entire sequence at once. Feel free to pick and choose the movements that resonate with you. Mix and match to create a style that feels natural to you.
Consider this choreography as a foundation from which you can explore and develop your own unique expression. My goal is to help you build a toolkit of moves that you can adapt depending on the music, the partner, or your mood. It’s about understanding the system of the movements, the logic behind them, and how you can apply them creatively in different situations.
To help you master these adornos, I’m breaking down the entire choreography in my series of YouTube Live sessions. During these live streams, I’ll guide you through each movement. Step by step, I will explain not only how to execute them, but also how to add your personal flair. I will give you tips about to make them look more polished and beautiful. We’ll dive into the details of posture, timing, and how to synchronize your movements with the rhythm of the music. But most importantly, I’ll give you the tools to understand the principles behind the movements. Eventually you will be able to break free from the sequence and start improvising with confidence.
If you can’t attend the live sessions, don’t worry! You can still catch up with the recordings at your own pace. All you need to do is become a member, and you’ll have full access to the tutorials. Start practicing with me, and let’s enjoy this journey of dance together!
Happy dancing, and enjoy the choreography!
